At ExpenseIQ, we take your financial privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and website.
1. Information We Collect
- Account Information: When you sign up via Email or Google Sign-In, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture to synchronize your data across devices.
- Financial Data: We store your recorded expenses, merchant names, categories, and budget limits in our secure cloud database (Firebase Firestore).
- Images & OCR: When you scan a receipt, the image is processed locally on your device using machine learning. We do not store your raw receipt images on our servers unless you explicitly choose to attach them to a transaction.
- Biometric Data: authentication is handled entirely by your device's Operating System. ExpenseIQ never has access to your actual biometric data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data to synchronize your financial records across multiple devices, provide real-time budget notifications, and offer spending analytics. We may also use anonymized data to improve our receipt scanning accuracy.
3. Data Sharing & Security
- No Selling of Data: We never sell or rent your financial data to third parties or advertisers.
- Third-Party Services: We use Google Firebase for infrastructure, authentication, and database services.
- Encryption: All data is encrypted using AES-256 on your device and transmitted via TLS (HTTPS) to our servers.
4. Your Rights
You have the right to export all your financial records in CSV or JSON format from the app settings. You can also permanently delete your account and all associated data through the Privacy Settings in the app.
